Hydro Fracturing

As many of you may know, central Wisconsin can be a most difficult area to obtain an adequate quality of water when drilling a well.  A poor producing well not only makes living in a home inconvenient, it also makes the sale of the property that much more difficult.

Therefore, as a solution to this ever present problem, a new procedure has been designed to increase the amount of water in existing dry and low yield water wells which are terminated in rock formation.

Hydro-Fracturing was initially developed in the oil-fields three decades ago.  Hydro-Fracturing is accomplished by lowering an inflatable packer into an existing well and inflating the packer at an appropriate depth, usually ten to twenty feet below the bottom of the well casing.  Water is then pumped down through a pipe which passes through the middle of the packer.  The water is pressurized from 0-2000 pounds per square inch.  This pressure in the well usually causes small, tight fractures to interconnect with nearby water-bearing fractures.  Once a suitable amount of water has been pumped into the fractures, pumping is stopped, the packer is removed, and a test pump is installed to determine the new well yield.

The success rate has been exceptional.  Wells that have previously been unusable have been improved by as much as two-thousand times their original yield.  Most importantly to the home owner, our charges for Hydro-Fracturing are directly related to the success rate.
